Andrew Macpherson Biography

Andrew Macpherson was born in London, where his mother owned a couture dress shop and his father was a racing car driver. At thirteen he discovered photography, and two years later, after being expelled from school, he started his career the old fashioned way, making tea, sweeping floors and developing film in Fleet Street, which was the hub of the news media. By the time he was twenty he was assisting the top photographers of the day, including Horst and Lord Snowdon. He branched out as a photographer at twenty-three, and soon was shooting for The Face, Elle,  Bazaar and Vogue.  

After ten years shooting fashion he moved to Los Angeles to focus on photographing the entertainment icons of our time, and has been based there for the last twenty years. He has two photo-books published; Two Million Miles, a compilation of his favorite images from his first twenty years in the industry, was published by teNeues in 2006 and 10 Years With P!nk, which was published in 2014, showcases the images he and P!nk have collaborated on our the last six of her albums and tours. In 2015 he is also publishing his first non-photography book, A Question of Spirit, which is a personal exploration on the nature of both Spirit and the reality we live in.
